The body of a teenager found in Raleigh's Pate Park, police investigate

Raleigh police are investigating the discovery of a teenager's body found at Pate Park near Lake Wheeler Road on Saturday evening.

Officers responded to the scene on the 2640 block of Sierra Drive after receiving reports of a body found.

The victim's family said she was 17 years old.

The cause of death and the identity of the individual are unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and police do not believe its a homicide.
