Three people are in custody after a carjacking, chase and shooting Sunday in Raleigh.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, a car was stolen from Lions Park near Dennis Avenue around 1 p.m. Saturday in Raleigh.
The car’s owner lost track of it but had family in the area who found it Sunday and began chasing it.
Shots were fired from the suspects’ car and, at some point, gunfire was exchanged between the suspects car and a second car. Police did not know if the second round of shots came from the suspects' car or the one chasing it.
The chase went down Raleigh Blvd., Rock Quarry Road and ended on Hammond Road.
Three suspects, later confirmed to be juveniles, abandoned the car and ran from the scene.
Police took all three juveniles into custody and found a handgun in the stolen car. Police did not know if the gun belonged to the car’s owner or the suspects.
The City-County Bureau of Identification is investigating the scene.
