Today’s daily digit

A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

6/10: Not the best weekend weather. Rain does dwindle with time, though.

Express forecast

  • Today: Rain ending. A few afternoon breaks. Highs: Mid-50s.
  • Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows: Near 40 to mid-40s.
  • Tomorrow: Partly sunny. Highs: Low to mid-60s.

Forecast in detail

Today’s the kind of day to sleep in or at least get a slow start as rain will be ending as we move toward the midday. Much of the afternoon should be salvageable and on the mild side compared to normal for early March. Tomorrow is unquestionably the winner of the weekend. Of course, with sunnier and warmer conditions we have to start keeping pollen in greater mind. It should be a decent tradeoff for the time being on that level.

Today (Saturday): Rain should be mostly done by the midday hours, but a shower can linger into the afternoon. Some clearing is possible in the later day. Highs mainly in the mid-50s. Winds blow from the north around 5 to 10 mph, with gusts around 15 mph. Confidence: Medium-High

Tonight: More breaks in the clouds are a good bet during the evening and through the night. Lows range from about 40 to the mid-40s. Winds out of the north are light to calm. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Sunday): It should be a mix of sun and clouds through the day, and probably staying dry. With light winds, temperatures in the low and mid-60s feel quite nice. Light winds blow out of the south. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: A general increase in clouds may occur through the night. Mainly or fully dry, although a shower becomes possible toward sunrise. Lows range from about 43 to 48. Confidence: Medium

A look ahead

We’re watching another little low-pressure area offshore Monday. Depending on how close it gets, there could be varying amounts of raindrops around. At this point the best odds are east of the bay, but that doesn’t mean totally dry here. Mainly mid-60s for highs. Confidence: Medium

It should be drier again by Tuesday as any storm pulls off to the north and east. The pattern is rather sluggish, so clouds could remain numerous, and we’ll need to watch that the storm doesn’t slow down in closing. For now, mid-60s to around 70 for highs. Confidence: Medium
