Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan joined the star- studded pre-wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar on Friday. The event was attended by many prominent figures from different fields. Zuckerberg took to his Instagram handle congratulated the couple and said he loved Indian weddings.

The theme of the opening day of the pre-wedding celebrations was Evening in Everland as the guests wore cocktail attire. The first day of the grand celebrations elevated the expectations of the guests for the following days. The theme of the 2^nd day of the pre-wedding bash is known as a Walk on the Wildside and the guests can be seen in Jungle Fever attire.

Zuckerberg has opted for an animal print shirt with white trousers, Chan is complementing his look in a strappy one piece in black and golden. The Jungle theme is aligned to Vantara, Reliance’s animal welfare initiative undertaken and launched by Anant Ambani a few days back.

International pop star Rihana electrified the pre wedding celebrations on Friday with an amazing performance, marking her debut appearance in India. The chart topping artist engaged the audience with performances of her iconic hits which included Pour it Up, Work and Diamonds.

Zuckerberg graced the opening day, wearing a black-on-black firefly blazer and shoes from Alexander McQueen while his wife Priscilla wore a black gown with gold flower details and other accessories such as dainty chain bracelet, gold necklace and stud earrings. With an explanation of non-compliance with billing policies, Google recently decided to remove ten popular apps, including the popular matrimony app shadi.com, developed by Indian developers, from the Play Store. This move has sparked outrage and raised worries.

Among the delisted apps are names like Bharat Matrimony, Shaadi.com, Telugu Matrimony, and dating apps like Truly Madly and QuackQuack. Popular video-streaming platforms Stage, Balaji Telefilms’ Altt, and audio streaming app Kuku FM have also been removed.

Leading names in the Indian startup scene have responded strongly to the move, which has heightened tensions between the Internet giant and local internet companies.

Shaadi.com’s founder, Anupam Mittal, voiced his disappointment over the removal of important apps, calling it a dark day for India’s Internet.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Mittal said today is a dark day for the Indian Internet. Google has delisted major apps from its app store even though legal proceedings are underway at the Competition Commission of India and the Supreme Court of India.

He also said, their false narratives and audacity show they have little regard for… Make no mistake. This is the new Digital East India Co., and this Lagaan must be stopped, he added.

In another tweet, he said Google is evil, as he used the hashtag #EvilGoogle.

The CEO of the OTT platform STAGE, Vinay Singhal, whose app was removed from the Play Store, expressed similar worries, stating that Google’s recent moves went against the company’s once-famous motto, Don’t be evil.

Kuku FM’s CEO Lal Chand Bisu, called Google the most evil company for businesses, after their audio storytelling app was taken down.

Speaking about a previous incident in which Google delisted Kuku FM in 2019 without giving any notice, Bisu called those days the worst days ever, citing the effect on the team’s ability to work nonstop even if their app was unavailable on the Play Store.

Meanwhile, other CEOs also raised their voices against Google, whose apps were removed from the Play Store.

With over 97% of the smartphone market in India, Google has an overwhelming amount of power, which is why there is an outcry.

International pop sensation Rihanna experienced a wardrobe malfunction during her special performance at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding celebration in Jamnagar on March 1. Now on social media, an array of images and videos of Rihanna has gone viral.

Rihanna chose to wear a shimmery green bodycon gown for the star-studded occasion. She added earrings, a pink scarf, and a neckpiece to finish her ensemble. During the event, the singer sang on a number of her greatest hits, including Rude Boy, Pour It Up, Diamonds, and others.

However, she expeienced a wardrobe mishap at the function. A photo showing her ripped dress has gone viral. In the image, the singer is captured on stage alongside Nita Ambani, with the sleeves of her dress visibly torn near the underarm.

Rihanna reportedly charged around $8- $9 million (about Rs 66 and 74 crore) for her performance in Jamnagar. It is said that the majority of the expenses for her remarkable performance were spent in transporting her stage props, costumes, and supporting performers.

Following her show, Rihanna departed Jamnagar and was observed posing for photos with paparazzi before taking off. She can be also seen hugging female police officers at the airport in one of the video that has gone viral.

Indian musicians Diljit Dosanjh, Ajay-Atul, Arijit Singh, and others are expected to perform at the celebration in addition to Rihanna. It was previously reported that each guest received an invitation to the pre-wedding celebration along with a detailed dress code planner and an illustrated mood board for each theme.

Meanwhile, the pre-wedding festivities of Anant and Radhika will continue till March 3. Several politicians, businessmen, sports personalities, and Bollywood celebrities have traveled to Jamnagar to attend the function.

Anant and Radhika, who got engaged on January 19, 2023, in a Gol Dhana ceremony in Mumbai, is all set to tie the knot in July 2024.
