Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah says it will be easy to nab culprit as we have visuals on Bengaluru blast

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday, expressing his confidence, said that it will be easy to nab the culprit involved in the blast at the city’s popular eatery, The Rameshwaram Cafe, as State has visual of the culprit’s movement captured by the cameras.

Speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah said that it is still unknown whether any organisation was involved in the incident at the quick-service eatery in the Brookfield area in the information technology corridor in east Bengaluru, leaving ten people injured.

The Karnataka CM added that authority would find the culprit, and it would be easy as his visuals of alighting from the bus, purchasing a tiffin at the eatery, sitting at a place and placing a bag have all been captured. The government will find him at the earliest, he further added.

Siddaramaiah today visited the Brookfield Hospital to meet those injured in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast.

While speaking to the media, Siddaramaiah said that his government would bear all the treatment charges of all the patients. Around 10 people were injured in the blast, following that, three injured were admitted to the Brookfield Hospital and six others were admitted to Vydehi Hospital. The Karnataka CM visited both the hospital to meet the injured people. The patients are recovering and responding very well to the treatment, he told reporters.

Later, Siddaramaiah also visited The Rameshwaram Cafe, a day after a low-intensity explosion took place here and took a survey of the spot.

On the Bengaluru blast, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said that his government is very committed to coming out with a clean and fair investigation. The government has ordered an investigation into the incident and Central Crime Branch has also been included for further investigation. Seven to eight groups have already been set up for the investigation and they are trying to trace the culprit, he added.

Fortunately, no major incident has happened. and asked the Bengaluru people not to be scared as the Karnataka government has ordered a fair investigation into the matter. The equipment used in the blast appears familiar and investigation is being carried out at all angles, Shivakumar further added.

India responds to dancer Amarnath Ghosh’s murder in US

Ghosh was the recipient of a National Scholarship for Kuchipudi, from the International Cultural Ministry.

The Indian government on Saturday, responding to the murder of renowned Kuchipudi dancer Amarnath Ghosh, said that it has taken up the case strongly with St Louis Police the University for investigation of the reprehensible gun attack in US’ Missouri.

The Indian consulate in Chicago said that they are in touch with the US authorities and are constantly following the investigation. The Kolkata dancer, who was pursuing an MFA in Dance at Washington University in Saint Louis, was shot dead on Tuesday while he was taking an evening walk in Missouri, as per the reports.

Taking to X, the embassy expressed their condolence to the family and friends of deceased Ghosh and said that they are following up forensic, investigation with police and providing support.

Emphasising that, the embassy further said that the consulate has been extending all help to relatives of deceased Ghosh and has taken up the case strongly with St Louis police and the University for investigation of the reprehensible gun attack.

The television actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee, who in a post on X, highlighted the incident and had sought the help of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the case.

Bhattacharjee said that her fried Ghosh was shot and killed in St Louis Academy neighbourhood, US on Tuesday evening. He was the only child in the family, his mother died 3 years back, and his father passed away during his childhood, she added.

The reason behind it and the accused details everything has not been revealed yet or perhaps no one left in his family to fight for it except his few friends. He was from Kolkata. Excellent dancer, was pursuing PhD, was taking an evening walk and suddenly he was shot multiple times by an unknown, Bhattacharjee further added.

She appealed to the Indian embassy and PM Modi to kindly look into it and said some friends in the US have been trying to claim the body but still no update about it. At least we should know the reason for his murder, the TV actor said.

A champion in four dance styles, Amarnath Ghosh was an alumnus of the Kalakshetra Academy in Chennai. He was the recipient of a National Scholarship for Kuchipudi, from the International Cultural Ministry.

Speaking at the launch of development initiatives in Krishnanagar, West Bengal PM Modi said from the infrastructure point of view, railways is part of the glorious history of West Bengal, but the historical progress that Bengal achieved could not be utilized properly after independence. The Prime Minister said in the last 10 years, the central government has laid a lot of emphasis on the rail infrastructure here to bridge the gap. As a result the spending for the rail infrastructure in Bengal has increased more than twice. PM Modi is on a two day visit to 3 states arrived in West Bengal’s Arambagh on Friday afternoon, where he also launched many development projects and addressed a rally in Hooghly.

The infrastructure projects are related to sectors like road, rail and power. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station Phase II (2×660 MW) located at Raghunathpur in Purulia district. He also inaugurated the Flue gas desulfurization (FGD) system of Units 7&8 of Mejja Thermal Power Station.

PM Modi also inaugurated the road project for 4 lanes of the Farakka – Raiganj Section of NH-12 (100 km). Developed at a cost of about Rs 1986 crore. The project aims to reduce traffic congestion, improve connectivity and contribute to the socio-economic development of North Bengal and North East region.

He also dedicated to the nation 4 rail projects worth Rs 940 crore in West Bengal which included the doubling of the Damodar- Mohishila rail line, the third line between Rampurhat and Murarai and the doubling of the Bazarsau – Azimganj rail line and New Line connecting Azimganj- Mushidabad.

Spanish woman on tour with husband gang-raped in Jharkhand’s Dumka, 3 held

A Spanish woman, who was on a tour with her husband, was allegedly gang-raped on Friday night in Jharkhand’s Dumka. Three people, in the matter, have been detained by the police so far.

According to reports, the horrible incident took place at Kurumahat in the Hansdiha police station area where the couple was spending a night in the tent.

The Spanish woman, in her complaint, said that when she and her husband were on a bike tour en route to Bhagalpur via Dumka decided to spend a night in  Kunji village of Dumka district, where they set up a tent and slept in the Hansdiha police station area.

Further in her complaint, the Spanish woman said that, while she was asleep, several people from the nearby vicinity forcibly entered her tent and raped her. The accused also physically assaulted her. Currently, the woman is receiving treatment at a hospital in Saraiyahat. Subsequently, she will be brought to Dumka.

Reports stated that Dumka SP, Pitambar Singh Kherwar, arrived at the crime scene on Friday night and has remained there ever since. The case is currently being investigated and the detained individuals are being interrogated. Furthermore, forensic experts have been included in the investigation.

A Spanish woman complained that she was gang raped in Hansdiha police station area last night. Police are taking the necessary actions including her medical examination. Three persons have been detained. Further investigation is underway, Dumka SP told the reporter on Saturday.

According to several reports, the couple was on a mega trip around Asia. Before arriving in Dumka, they travelled to Pakistan from where they had also gone to Bangladesh. Both were planning to go to Nepal after the India tour.

Phulo Jhano Medical College Superintendent Anukuran Purty, on the Spanish woman rape, said that this hasn’t been established yet that she had been raped, outer injuries are visible but for inner injuries and other things medical examinations are going on. She is out of danger, he added. Her age determination will be done. A committee will also be formed, Purty emphasised.
