"It has long been believed that Leap Days don't have to play by the rules of real time." Chauncey says it's true… Do you believe? Blumhouse has revealed this Leap Day promo spot for Imaginary, which is opening in theaters nationwide next week. From Blumhouse, the genre-defining masterminds behind Five Nights at Freddy's and M3gan, comes an original horror idea that taps into the innocence of imaginary friends – and begs the question: Are they really figments of childhood imagination or is something more terrifying lying just beneath…? A woman returns to her childhood home to discover that the imaginary friend that she left behind is very real and very unhappy that she abandoned him. Starring DeWanda Wise as Jessica, Tom Payne, Taegan Burns, Pyper Braun, Veronica Falcon, and Betty Buckley. This teddy bear monster does look genuinely terrifying, which is the main allure of this horror movie. This spot is being released on February 29th, Leap Day 2024, to promote the release one week from now. Will you be watching next week?

When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest step-daughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that become increasingly sinister. As Alice's behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be. Imaginary is directed by American writer / filmmaker Jeff Wadlow, director of the films Cry Wolf, Never Back Down, Kick-Ass 2, True Memoirs of an International Assassin, Truth or Dare, Fantasy Island, The Curse of Bridge Hollow, and the series "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" previously. The screenplay is written by Greg Erb, Jason Oremland, and Jeff Wadlow. Produced by Jason Blum, Paul Uddo, and Jeff Wadlow. Lionsgate and Blumhouse present, a Tower of Babble production. Lionsgate opens Imaginary in theaters nationwide starting on March 8th, 2024 coming soon. Scared yet?
