The victory margin was also more than one lakh votes. Samajwadi party had also fielded a candidate on this seat who got 48 thousand 275 votes, which is only 5.75 percent of the total votes. Seen from this perspective, this seat is going to be the biggest challenge for Congress. Talking about caste equations, Brahmin, kshatriya and Vaishya voters are approximately 35-40 percent. Muslims constitute 22 percent, Dalits and OBCs together form between 25 to 27 percent and the rest are others. Brahmin voters play a big role in victory or defeat on this seat. After the consecration of ram Temple, it will not be easy to remove him from the BJP's side. Apart from this, if BSP candidate enters the field then the path of congress may become difficult.

PM Modi is in front in Varanasi

Samajwadi party has given this seat to Congress. Here, irrespective of any equation, the votes cast in the name of prime minister Narendra Modi are one-sided in the last two lok sabha elections. In the 2019 lok sabha elections, PM Modi got more than 63 percent votes. Samawadi party got 18.47 percent votes and congress 14.77 percent votes. That means, even if SP and congress had contested elections together on this seat, the difference in votes would have been huge. The special thing is that till now 17 lok sabha elections have been held in varanasi in which congress has won 7 times and bjp has won 7 times. Once Janata Dal, once CPM and once Bharatiya Lok Dal have won the election. SP and BSP have never won this seat.

Talking about caste equations, the Kurmi community has the highest number of voters in this seat. Apart from this, the number of Brahmins and Bhumihars is quite high. There are more than 3 lakh non-Yadav OBC voters here. There are a little more than 2 lakh Kurmi voters and around 2.2 lakh Vaishya voters. There are around 1.5 lakh Bhumihars, 1 lakh Yadavs and 1 lakh scheduled castes. Muslim voters are around 3 lakh.
