Championship sees manager change every 13 days and is close to record season – but Watford aren’t responsible for a single one

The Championship is a brutal place… just ask the 16 managers who have already been replaced this season.

Most teams can legitimately harbour hopes of at least reaching the play-off places and when things are going well, managers will not find themselves in a job for long.

Those 16 changes include three clubs who have sacked two managers inside the same season - Birmingham, Millwall and Sunderland.

That isn’t too far off the record for the most sackings in a single Championship season either, the 2014/15 campaign can lay claim to that when 19 managers were axed.

One of those included Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who was axed by Cardiff mid-season.

There’s still three months of the season to go and we only need three more to equal the record and four to beat it.
