Netflix today revealed the first glimpse of its upcoming crime thriller, Do Patti, which has increased fan interest. With a setter cast that includes actors like Kajol, Kriti Sanon, Shaheer Sheikh, and Tanvi Azmi, Do Patti promises audiences a gripping cinematic experience full of drama, suspense, and emotion.

The teaser of the upcoming film promises to take viewers to the unexplored highlands of North India, where a thrilling rollercoaster journey full of surprises and secrets awaits.

Taking to social media handles, Netflix India shared the teaser, saying, firsts are always special. Be it Kajol’s first as a cop or Kriti Sanon’s first thriller, Do Patti coming soon only on Netflix, they added.

In the beginning of the teaser, Kajol is seen riding a bike in the hills. The teaser implies that she is a police officer who is on her next mission, which involves fraud, truth, evidence, and heart. Although hardly much is revealed in the teaser, Kriti Sanon appears for the first time in an intense avatar.

While Kajol has experience in suspense films like Dushman and Gupt, Kriti is making her debut in this genre with Do Patti. However, this is the first time for Kajol that she will be playing a cop. Although the teaser doesn’t reveal the whole story, it does imply that Kajol’s police officer would be squareing off with Kriti’s suspect.

Do Patti is the first film under the recently established banners of Kathha Pictures, owned by writer Kanika Dhillo, and Kriti Sanon’s Blue Butterfly Films. After Rohit Shetty’s 2015 film Dilwale, this is Kajol and Sanon’s second collaboration.

Earlier, during an interview, Kajol opened up about Do Patti and said she was thrilled to play a cop for the first time in her career. The Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge actor also said she is excited to work again with Netflix after Tribhanga and Lust Stories 2.

Netflix has yet to announce the release date of the film.

Ajay Devgan and Shriya Saran, starring Drishyam, the cult franchise, is set to expand internationally following its enormous success in Indian and Chinese markets. The makers of the film have now revealed the new milestone for the franchise following the Korean adaptation.

To make Drishyam in Hollywood, Panorama Studios has partnered with Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films. The romantic comedy Blended, which reunited Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore back together, was produced by Gulfstream Pictures, which Bill Bindley and Mike Karz co-founded.

The international remake rights to the first and second installments of Drishyam have been acquired by Panorama Studios from Aashirvad Cinemas, the original producers. A production arrangement for a Spanish-language version of the popular film is currently being finalised, and it will soon be released in the US and Korea.

Chairman and Managing Director of Panorama Studios, Kumar Mangat Pathak, who has acquired the rights to the franchise, expressed his thoughts in a press release, saying, they are excited to celebrate this story with audiences worldwide because Drishyam’s clever narrative has a universal appeal. They are thrilled to be working together with JOAT Films and Gulfstream Pictures to adapt this story into English for the Hollywood market. The release also said that their goal is to develop Drishyam in 10 countries over the next three to five years, after Korea and Hollywood.

Gulfstream Pictures’ Bill Bindley and Mike Karz jointly released the following statement, saying they are thrilled to be working with Panorama Studios and JOAT Films on an English-language adaptation of Drishyam. The film is a classic thriller that has captured the attention of viewers everywhere. They are eager to release the film to American audiences, the statement said.

The Malayalam film’s remake has been a hit in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Sinhala, and Chinese, while its Korean and English versions are currently under production.
