The 2024 Radical Cup North America season will commence at Sebring International Raceway this weekend with an influx of both young and experienced drivers setting the stage for the most competitive season yet. More than 30 cars are descending on the Sunshine State as fields in the Pro 1340, Pro 1500, and Platinum classes are highlighted by new teams including Graham Rahal Performance, and new faces including USF (Road To Indy) stars, top SCCA talent, former Le Mans runners and returning champions.

“The Radical Cup continues to go from strength to strength, with several fresh faces, new race teams joining the fold, not to mention a new partnership with McDonald’s during the offseason,” said Radical Cup’s Tom Drewer. “With four events alongside the NTT IndyCar Series in 2024, the Radical Cup will again offer a premier package, and drivers are responding, with 31 cars on the grid for USAC’s Sebring Sports Car Week event.”

Ten of those competitors will hail from the Platinum division as reigning class champion Jon Field (ONE Motorsports) will look to continue his winning ways from 2023 joined under the team tent by his son, 2005 American Le Mans Series champion Clint Field, and two-time SCCA Runoffs champion Chip Romer.

WISKO Racing will see five drivers in the Platinum class, led by 2023 front-runner Louis Schriber. Leveling up from the Pro 1500 class while also making the move to the WISKO Racing program in the offseason is Gregg Gorski who will make his North American Platinum class debut, after an outstanding performance in the 2023 Radical World Finals in Portimao, where Gorski took a heat race win and finished second in the final.

David Alban, Scott Wagner and Jim Booth will also represent WISKO, and all have the experience to battle in what is the most competitive Platinum class in recent years. After a successful switch from dirt racing to paved road courses in 2023, Wayne Williams throws his hat into the mix with ESSES Racing as Radical Canada East driver Kevin Poitras returns to round out the field. Two of the ten Platinum class competitors will utilize the latest SR10 XXR machinery, Schriber and Albans.

The largest class on the grid will be Pro 1500 as a talented crop of youngsters and a new potent program make their series debut this weekend. Graham Rahal Performance will enter former formula car drivers turned Radical racers Jordan Missig and Nicholas d’Orlando this coming weekend alongside Pro 1340 driver Kenny Naill. 2023 Team and Driver Championship winning team Steve Cameron Racing with Radical Northwest will bring second-year competitor Arul Venkatesh alongside Spencer Schmidt, son of IndyCar owner Sam Schmidt, and rookie Corey Neveau.

2023 Pro 1500 championship runner-up Danny Dyszelski has switched teams for 2024, joining the potent RySpec Racing team with teammates Drew Altman and Racing With Autism’s Austin Riley. With a stacked field of drivers and a newly formed team alliance in Ryno Racing and Team Stradale, Mike Anzaldi will pilot the #61 entry as the team brings a pair of competitors to Sebring. Jack Yang, who is also a regular in the Hagerty Radical Cup United Kingdom series, heads a strong driving duo for Group-A Racing alongside Jack Zweifel. Matt

Romer (ONE Motorsports), Evan Slater (WISKO Racing), and David Flynt (APEX Motorsports South) round out the Pro 1500 field.

Growing in size from 2023, the Pro 1340 class will see eight competitors for the opening weekend of competition and none stronger than multi-time race winner Chris McMurry in an SR3 XXR who races out of the CROWN with APEX stable and will compete alongside Seth Bacon. Kenny Naill will be the sole Graham Rahal Performance entry in Pro 1340 and will be up against a trio of RySpec Racing drivers in Douglas George, Mayer Deonarine, and Sim Racer and professional driver coach turned Radical Cup competitor Suellio Almeida in an SR3 XXR. RYNO Racing with Team Stradale will see the return of Ben Blander to Pro 1340 in 2024 with G-Tech Motorsport entering Brad Sutika.

Drewer added, “The excitement level is high, and we are ready to get the 2024 Radical Cup North America season underway. I can’t wait to see who will be victorious in Sebring.”

Drivers will hit the track Thursday for optional testing before a pair of official practice sessions on Friday. Saturday will be a jam-packed day with qualifying and two wheel-to-wheel races with Sunday reserved for race three of the triple-header weekend.
