Three cheers for former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley, who insists she will remain in the Republican presidential primary contests despite her losses in South Carolina and Michigan. Ms. Haley will keep running in the 15 states that vote next week on Super Tuesday [“Haley’s bid has become vehicle for discontent,” front page, Feb. 26].
Public service begins with the running for office, not just when a candidate is elected. Ms. Haley is doing a public service for the American people, calling out the chaos and attempted autocracy that former president Donald Trump would bring to the presidency. Moreover, she is an example to other Republican leaders who are sitting silent on the sidelines.
Hang in there, Ms. Haley. Hope springs eternal.
