The Bay Center and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock (UUFR) Church are partnering again to bring the Pledge to End Racism to the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck.
The Pledge to End Racism is a training program that allows participants to meaningfully explore aspects of racism in their lives, reported Bay Center representative Thomas Coye. First started by the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Richmond, the upcoming program consists of six two-hour sessions of education and discussion on addressing racism.
Participants learn together and challenge one another to engage in real change. Moving from education to action, participants commit to working for racial justice throughout the community.
The spring 2024 training will take place 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, April 2 to May 7, at the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock Church, 366 James Wharf Road, White Stone.
There is no charge for the program, though donations are welcome. Registration is required. Register at www.thebaycenter.org. The Pledge to End Racism workshop is funded by the Robert B. Lantz Foundation.
