OHIO — Artificial intelligence is now making its way through classrooms all across the state and is helping teachers find new ways to empower their students.
The AI toolkit is a new initiative recently rolled out by InnovateOhio. It is a resource to help teachers prepare their students for the current and future world of AI. Some teachers are already using it to help students with projects to learn about the impact of AI and education.
“As a classroom teacher, it can be challenging to keep up with how rapidly technology changes around us,” said Erica Kempf, a Northmont High School English teacher. “But it is essential for our students that we are continuously willing to learn alongside them and to be open to learning from them.”
Ohio teachers are not required to use AI in the classroom, but Lt. Gov. Jon Husted said he hopes teachers will consider using it in the future.
