‘Home of the Year’ feels tone deaf in its 10th season, it’s the pits of property porn

How convenient that amidst all the cooing no one ever mentions money

The year 2015 was not a great one for Irish television. It began with New Year’s Day being ruined by UTV Ireland, the channel nobody asked for, nobody liked and nobody watched (except for Coronation Street), invading the schedules.

It ended equally dismally with Westlife performing their anodyne covers of other people’s greatest hits on a cold North Wall Quay on RTÉ’s New Year’s Eve show.
