Erling Haaland notched up his eighth hat-trick and second five-goal haul for Manchester City as he run Luton ragged in a 6-2 win.

But incredibly, it was the Norway international's first treble for the Citizens away from the Etihad Stadium since joining in 2022.

And not for the first time, he had Kevin De Bruyne to thank, with the Belgian providing all three of his assists in the first half of the FA Cup fifth round tie at Kenilworth Road.

Haaland broke the deadlock in the third minute when he lashed home from close range from De Bruyne's cutback from the left flank.

It was 2-0 to the visitors 15 minutes later when Haaland raced onto a through ball before firing low through Tim Krul.

And he completed his hat-trick in the 40th minute when he ran onto another through ball, only this time deciding to dink over the Dutch goalkeeper.

Luton threatened to make a comeback as Jordan Clark scored just before the break with a stunning effort from range.

He then doubled his tally for the night with a 52nd minute strike, before De Bruyne and Haaland combined again to make it 4-2.

And the 23-year-old then restored City's three-goal lead with his fifth goal in the 58th minute, though this time it was Bernardo Silva with the assist.

Though this isn't the first time Haaland has scored as many goals in a single game for City, having done so against RB Leipzig in the Champions League in March 2023.
