Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.43% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:09AM(IST)on Tuesday in a weak market.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.92 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.72 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.18 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.14 per cent) and Wipro Ltd.(up 0.12 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.29 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.29 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.24 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.18 per cent) and MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.01 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.43 per cent at 37760.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 7.75 points at 22114.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 9.49 points at 72780.64.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 23 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Indian Renewable, Easy Trip Planners and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of T T Ltd, Moksh Ornaments Ltd., Railtel Corp, Dhruv Consultancy and Kellton Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Excel Realty N Infr, MPS Infotecnics, Creative Eye, Visagar Polytex and GI Engineering hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
