The Indo Daily: ‘He was the most frightening person in my life,’ says stepdaughter of paedophile rugby player

David Tweed's stepdaughter suspects there are more victims to come forward

Davy Tweed was a popular, successful man in public, but he was also a violent domestic abuser and paedophile who preyed on his relatives.

His stepdaughter Amanda Brown, who was abused by Tweed from the ages of eight to 15, has said it is "more than likely" his tally of victims goes beyond the women who are known to the family.

Her book, No Peace Until He’s Dead, explains what the former Irish rugby player did to her and her family.

Ms Brown and four of Tweed’s daughters first went public about their father, describing him as a “predatory paedophile and violent thug”, after he was killed in a motorcycle accident in 2021.

Speaking to the Irish Independent this week, Ms Brown described how the trauma of abuse she suffered drove her to plan suicide. Separately, years later, her cousin Gemma, who was also abused by Tweed, took her own life.

Today, Ms Brown tells the The Indo Daily she has spoken out to make sure Tweed’s abuse is never forgotten.
