Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.35% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 11:00AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 4.37 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.28 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(up 0.51 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sanofi India Ltd.(down 2.25 per cent), Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.84 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.69 per cent), Lupin Ltd.(down 1.64 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 1.49 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.35 per cent at 18980.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 96.91 points at 22115.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 343.54 points at 72799.26.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 were trading in the green, while 37 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Jio Financial Servic, Infibeam Avenues and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Moksh Ornaments Ltd., Zaggle Prepaid Ocean, Pilani Invest, AVG Logistics and Kellton Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Rajshree Polypack, Vibhor Steel Tubes, Radaan Media, Orient Refractories and N K Industries hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
