A conveyancer who made headlines with a body positivity campaign has been suspended from practice by the Mpumalanga High Court in Mbombela after the Legal Practice Council (LPC) claimed she'd faked court orders and bank documents to commit alleged multimillion-rand frauds.
According to the LPC, Zietta van Rensburg and her firm Van Rensburg & Van Rensburg Inc had, among other things, falsely claimed to represent property sellers in transactions and, as a result, received millions in payments that were not due to them.
When confronted and asked to transfer money back to the sellers, she allegedly used fraudulent proof of payment documents to claim that she'd repaid the money she owed – while the outstanding cash did not reflect in the sellers' bank accounts.
