Gardaí have identified a number of individuals in Kerry and elsewhere in Munster as persons of interest in the ongoing investigation into drug trafficking linked to a notorious Mexican crime cartel, sources said.

It is understood detectives also believe that innocent people may have been unwittingly caught up in the illicit cargo of crystal meth, linked to the deadly Sinaloa cartel, that was seized at the Port of Cork last Friday week.
