The Toronto Congress Centre was the bustling hub for a significant employment expo, where Toronto Pearson played host. The event saw the participation of over 24 companies, all eager to recruit for over 700 available roles at the airport. This recruitment drive comes just in time for the anticipated increase in travel during the upcoming spring and summer seasons, bringing together various partners from the airport’s expansive aviation network to fill their ranks with new talent. The Toronto Pearson community already boasts a workforce of over 50,000 individuals.
Toronto Pearson stands as a beacon of Canadian innovation, offering a broad spectrum of career paths and opportunities for growth. These include positions in customer service, food service, security, baggage handling, and roles with various airline partners. The job fair held in October 2023 was a success, culminating in job offers for at least 450 attendees.
Job seekers had the chance to engage with representatives from prominent entities such as Air Canada, FedEx, Sunwing, HMS Host, Paladin Security, Porter Airlines, Sheraton, and WestJet.
“The aviation industry is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and as a result, many of our 400 companies are creating new, meaningful jobs here in Ontario,” said Karen Mazurkewich, Vice-President of Stakeholder Relations and Communications, Toronto Pearson. “The airport is the second largest employment zone in Canada, and the latest successful job fair underscores its importance as a major economic engine for the region.”
The job fair’s timing was impeccable, occurring shortly after Toronto Pearson was once again recognized in Forbes’ “Canada’s Best Employers” list for 2024. In this prestigious annual ranking, which assesses the top 300 Canadian employers through an independent survey, Toronto Pearson secured the 210th spot overall and ranked ninth among Transportation and Logistics companies.
