Bracket Watch
The Big East drew a ton of preseason attention -- and rightfully so. UConn, Marquette and Creighton were all thought to have Final Four potential, with a half-dozen others fighting for NCAA consideration. Not only has it turned out exactly that way, but it's safe to say the 2024 bubble watch will be setting up a home office at the Big East tournament three weeks from now. In this update, Seton Hall and Providence land inside the cut line as projected First Four participants. Among the first five teams out of the field are Butler and Villanova. All could make it or all could miss, at this point. Rarely have we seen such a fluid situation within a single conference. More likely there will be pseudo-elimination games along the way (Villanova, for instance, visits both Seton Hall and Providence in early March). And that's not counting unforseen triple-rematches at Madison Square Garden. For the Big East, the hype was worth it.
