Mykhailo Mudryk was stood in front of Fernandez and didn't respond to any jibes from the crowing Reds supporters nearby.

In response, Fernandez briefly stopped and stared at the fan before being ushered up the steps before the situation escalated.

It was more cup heartache for Chelsea at the hands of Liverpool with Jurgen Klopp's men also beating them in both the Carabao Cup final and FA Cup final two years ago.

The west London club last won a major honour in 2021, the Champions League, but they've made falling short in finals a habit in recent years.

As mentioned, they've lost their last six domestic cup finals. Prior to this season's Carabao Cup final and the double defeat to Liverpool in the 2021/22 campaign, they've lost the 2021 FA Cup final as well as the 2020 FA Cup final and the 2019 Carabao Cup final.

It's been a miserable season for Mauricio Pochettino's side, who are 11th in the Premier League table.

However, they are still in the FA Cup where they entertain Leeds on Wednesday night.
