Today’s daily digit

A somewhat subjective rating of the day’s weather, on a scale of 0 to 10.

7/10: A chilly start will be the coldest morning we see for a while with a mild stretch on the way. Still not a bad day with plenty of sun and temperatures near average.

Express forecast

  • Today: Mostly sunny, light winds. Highs: Upper 40s to near 50.
  • Tonight: Partly cloudy, slight shower chance late. Lows: Mid- to upper 30s.
  • Tomorrow: Partly to mostly sunny, mild. Highs: Low to mid-60s.

Forecast in detail

Today is the coolest of the next few, though highs should still approach or reach 50, which is near average for this time of year. A spring-like feel arrives tomorrow as we rise into the 60s, probably boosting our already high pollen levels. The warmth continues through midweek with a shot at 70 on Wednesday. Showers could be around at times Tuesday and Wednesday with some heavier ones possible late Wednesday.

Today (Sunday): After a cold start in the 20s to near 30 early this morning, we should get to the upper 40s to near 50 this afternoon. Skies are mostly bright and beautiful, though some high, thin clouds could come through at times. It’s also less breezy today with just a light wind from the south and southwest at about 5 to 10 mph. Confidence: High

Tonight: We can expect partly cloudy skies to close out the weekend with overnight lows above the freezing mark in the mid- to upper 30s, which will feel noticeably warmer than Saturday night. Just a slight chance of a shower overnight or toward sunrise. Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow (Monday): The start of the work week features partly to mostly sunny skies and a significant bump-up in temperatures, with afternoon highs in the low to mid-60s. Keep in mind pollen counts are starting to increase, so you might need to grab the allergy medicine, if you haven’t needed it already! Confidence: Medium-High

Tomorrow night: A mild, mostly cloudy night with lows in the mid- to upper 40s. Confidence: Medium-High

A look ahead

Skies should continue mostly cloudy on Tuesday with isolated to scattered showers possible. An increasing breeze from the south keeps things mild with highs in the 60s again. Remaining mostly cloudy and very mid Tuesday night with temperatures only dropping to the mid- to upper 50s and the chance of a few showers. Confidence: Low-Medium

Occasional showers are possible Wednesday as a gusty breeze from the southwest pushes highs to the mid-60s to low 70s. A cold front brings the potential for heavier showers, perhaps even a thunderstorm, by Wednesday evening and overnight, dropping temperatures to the upper 30s to low 40s by early Thursday morning. Confidence: Low

Temperatures should cool back to highs in the 40s and 50s Thursday and Friday, before warming up again next weekend.
