The Palestinian ambassador to Ireland, Dr Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid, has called on Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to use Ireland’s “special relationship” with the US to send a message to President Joe Biden when they meet in the White House on St Patrick’s Day.

Dr Wahba Abdalmajid wants Varadakar to implore the US president to put pressure on the Israeli prime minister “to stop this genocidal war against Gaza”.
