A tiatr titled “Euzonn Devachi” (God’s Plan) with a message for the season of Lent will be performed across Benaulim from today. The tiatr will be shown near churches.

The tiatr will be performed at Benaulim on February 25, at Cavelossim on March 3, at Colva on March 8, at Seraulim on March 10 and at Orlim on March 10. The dates for Varca and Carmona are yet to be decided.

Tiatr writer Rons Tavares said, “Every year I have a tiatr show during Lent and this time I will be performing near churches in Benaulim. All the expenses are being covered by social worker Warren Alemao. It is a tiatr based on a religious theme. There will be a free show in Margao also. The money will be given to patients of AIDS in the state.”

Alemao said, “Rons does work for the society and we have to come together and support such people. Tiatr writing and producing is a difficult job to do, because it requires a lot of money. As a social worker I felt that it was my responsibility to support them in whatever way to help Goemkarponn. We have to create an initiative for youngsters and the youth to keep up the Goan tradition and culture which I think is lacking. Tiatr is alive because of our Goans and it is a reflection of the society which the youth are not aware of.”
