It’s bracket release day for the MIAA, as seeds for the upcoming state basketball and hockey tournaments will be announced on Saturday.

The hockey brackets came out in the morning, and Greenfield High School checked in as the No. 25 seed in the Division 4 field.

The Green Wave (11-8-1) will travel to No. 8 Martha’s Vineyard in the Round of 32. The Sharks are 9-9-2.

Greenfield has made the state tournament field all three years since the format changed, and the Wave are 1-2 in their previous two appearances. In last year’s tourney, Greenfield fell to Stoneham on the road in the opening round, 6-1.

Greenfield and Martha’s Vineyard have one common opponent this year – Westfield. The Wave lost a tight 4-3 game on Feb. 7 in Greenfield, while Martha’s Vineyard earned a 4-2 win back on Dec. 22 in Bourne.

Preliminary round games are scheduled to begin play on Monday.
