National Federation of Cooperative Sugar Factories Limited (NFCSF) newly elected Chairman Harshvardhan Patil hailed the Union Cabinet decision for increasing the FRP of sugarcane payable by sugar factories for sugar season 2024-25 (Oct-Sept) to Rs 340 per quintal.

“The decision will help around 5 crore sugar farmers across the country. There are 259 sugar cooperative mills in the country through which more than 2 crore sugarcane farmers are associated”, said Patil.

In his comment, Patil also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and others for taking the wonderful decision in the interest of sugarcane farmers.

This is the historic price of sugarcane, which is about 8% higher than FRP of sugarcane for the current season 2023-24. The revised FRP will be applicable w.e.f. 01 Oct 2024.
