The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) advocated for a robust involvement of commercial counsellors stationed at the country’s embassies worldwide to tap into new markets for Bangladeshi exports.

The FBCCI underscored the significance of these counsellors and first secretaries (commercial) in attracting foreign investment for Special Economic Zones (EPZs).

FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam, during a courtesy call with newly appointed officers, stressed the pivotal role of foreign investment in Bangladesh’s economic development and market expansion.

He highlighted the need for maintaining commercial activities amidst global crises and highlighted the potential of appointed commercial counsellors and first secretaries (commercial) in achieving this goal.

Mahbubul urged the officials to focus on market diversification, export growth, and bolstering communication with domestic and foreign development organisations, as well as national and international commercial entities.

He assured them of FBCCI’s full cooperation in these endeavours.

The FBCCI leadership, including senior vice president Md. Amin Helaly, vice presidents Mohammad Anwar Sadat Sarkar and Md. Munir Hossain, and secretary general Muhammad Alamgir, reiterated their commitment to supporting the commercial counsellors and first secretaries (commercial) in their missions.

They collectively recognised the pivotal role these officials play in advancing Bangladesh’s economic interests on the global stage.
