MUMBAI: Emraan Hashmi was previously hailed for his bold performances in movies like Crook, Murder, and Aksar, and has been making an effort to cast the reputation of being Bollywood's "serial kisser." Despite his attempts to reduce the number of sensuous moments in his films, the actor acknowledged in a recent interview that certain producers continue to take advantage of his well-established reputation. In an interview with the popular news portal, Emraan was questioned about why he stopped appearing in kissing scenes and if he had ever given his personal endorsement.

He claimed that in this case, he follows the advice of his wife. “It’s the voice of my wife and I listen to that. I haven’t added any kissing scenes in my films. In fact, from the beginning I wanted to tone it down in films but an image of mine was created and a lot of producers took advantage of that. It became a staple thing to please the audience. When I see my films, I honestly feel that in some places those scenes weren’t required but it was an awakening for an audience also. It was a lead for cinema but I received the flak,” Emraan said.
The actor acknowledged that his wife used to worry about him carrying out kissing scenes when he was asked about it. “Of course she did but not anymore because I don’t do those kind of scenes anymore.” Emraan responded that he had done a kissing scene in Showtime. “She hasn’t seen the show yet. So, she might feel worried after watching it,” he said.
The trailer for Karan Johar's upcoming series, Showtime, was released a few days ago. It looks like Karan Johar will soon make public the behind-the-scenes activities in Bollywood. The film producer reflected Emraan Hashmi's return in this web series as another grey character. When addressing ANI, Emraan stated, “The trailer gives people an idea of the world we have created of contemporary Bollywood and this web series will reveal a lot about our industry.”
