An official video from the Nothing CEO – Carl Pei, has heightened the expectations for Nothing’s upcoming smartphone. The company has now confirmed that the Nothing Phone (2a) will release on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 5 pm IST. Earlier this week, the company teased us with a poster with the words Fresh and Eyes.

Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra SoC? Multiple sources have suggested that the device will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset (the same processor that powers the Redmi Note 13 Plus) under the hood. In December 2023 tipster Roland Quandt suggested (in a post on X) that the Nothing Phone (2a) will come in two hardware variants – 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB.
Two colour ways? Quandt’s post in December also indicated that the device will come in two colours that – black and white, keeping with Nothing’s phones in the past.

Camera deets: Carl Pei’s message has emphasised that the Nothing Phone (2a) experience will hinge on performance and a great camera. He also added that design innovation and software will also be differentiators for the device. Leaks suggest that the device will come with a 32MP selfie shooter and a dual cam with two 50MP lenses (primary + ultra-wide)
Feature packed: Yogesh Brar suggests that the Nothing Phone (2a) will come with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device could be powered by Nothing OS 2.5 built on Android 14.
The Nothing Phone (2a) looks all set to shake up the sub Rs 35,000 price segment and a worthy follow up to the Nothing Phone 2 that debuted in July 2023.
