Police say four men were sent to hospital following a shooting Thursday morning in White Rock.
RCMP told Global News the four are in serious condition following the shooting at Roper Avenue and Parker Street.
At approximately 12:25 a.m., police said officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired and a vehicle collision.
Neighbours told Global News they heard what sounded like fireworks going off early Thursday.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found four men suffering from serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
There is no word yet on any suspects or the identity of the victims.
The suspect vehicle had fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
There were reports of a burning vehicle near the Surrey and Langley border but there is no word on whether that is connected to the shooting.
“This incident appears to be targeted and there is no ongoing risk to public safety in the area at this time,” Const. Chantal Sears with White Rock RCMP said in a statement.
“The investigation is in the early stages and our General Investigations Unit has been engaged.”
The 15600 block of Rover Avenue is shut down in all directions so drivers are being asked to find an alternate route.
