Bournemouth v Manchester City preview

Manchester City prepared for Saturday evening's match by climbing back above Arsenal and into second place in the Premier League table with a 1-0 win over Brentford on Tuesday night.

Pep Guardiola's side can close the gap between them and league leaders Liverpool to just a solitary point with a win in Dorset on the weekend, as they bid to become the first time in the history of English football to win four consecutive league titles.

Last season's treble winners' win on Tuesday night got them back to winning ways after being held to a draw against Chelsea last weekend, and takes the Citizens' recent run to 12 wins in their last 13 matches, which includes wins in each of their last seven away games.

Interestingly the Dorset side have picked up more points on the road than at their home stadium this season, but the Cherries welcome the champions having lost only one of their last six matches at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth have never beaten Manchester City in the history of the football club, losing 18 of the 20 matches the two have played against each other, including all of the last 14 dating back to 1999.
