MUMBAI: The business reality show Shark Tank India regularly features compelling pitches from business owners showing original concepts and out-of-the-ordinary enterprises. A recent preview of the next episodes features the "sharks" praising certain startup concepts and criticizing others for overstating their promises.
An entrepreneur presents a beauty-enhancing device at the beginning of the commercial, saying it may replace fillers and botox. Vineeta Singh disputes these claims, though. Vineeta then gets into a furious dispute with the founders of a company that sells teen innerwear.
Later, Anupam Mittal closely examines business owners who provide a repair and delivery service for damaged phones. However, after hearing about their outstanding turnover, Anupam is immediately impressed and makes the pitchers an offer. Anupam claims that Vineeta copied his offer and gave the pitchers a lower price when she made one of her own.
In an earlier interview, Anupam Mittal revealed the details of his most successful investment to date. He said, “Cash in cash out interactive avenues were good. Because it was only a matter of a few years and we exited with several hundred crores. Because I owned such a significant chunk of the company, I got all the cash. The other one was Makaan.com. I founded that company also. Interestingly, we were on the verge of closing it because of lack of capital. So, I invested some money in it from the money I earned from interactive avenues and spun it out. REA group bought us out and I made multiple times my money in a window of two years. But in terms of return and absolute value Ola still values at the top.”
