Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.07% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:34AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Bank of Baroda(up 0.72 per cent), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.64 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.44 per cent), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 0.34 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(up 0.08 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(down 1.52 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.99 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.63 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent) and HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.55 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.07 per cent at 47060.15 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 4.96 points at 22201.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 5.65 points at 73051.75.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Zee Ent., NHPC and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Renaissance Global, Bigbloc Const, Zuari Global, Manaksia Coated and Bhageria Industries hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shyam Telecom, Credo Brands Marketi, Ebixcash World Money, N K Industries and 3rd Rock MultiMedia hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
