Smiti Agarwal, wife of V Bazaar CMD, purchases Rs 95-crore apartment in Gurugram's DLF The Camellias

Smiti Agarwal, a director at Wesbok Lifestyle Pvt Ltd and wife of V Bazaar CMD Hemant Agarwal, has purchased an apartment in The Camellias by DLF in Gurugram for Rs 95 crore, according to documents accessed by CRE Matrix, a real estate data analytics firm.

The sale deed was executed in Smiti Agarwal’s name on January 18, 2024. She paid a stamp duty of Rs 4.75 crore for the transaction, along with registration fees of Rs 50,003, the documents showed.

According to the documents, the apartment having a size of 10,813 square feet is housed in DLF The Camellias, which is a high-end luxury condominium located on Golf Course Road, DLF Phase 5 in Gurugram. The apartment comes with five parking spaces, documents showed.

Documents showed that the property was sold at the rate of Rs 87,857.20 per sq ft. There was no response from Agarwal to the queries from Moneycontrol.

Hemant Agarwal, who is CMD of retail outlet chain V Bazaar, had started his career by joining the family retail venture in Cuttack with his father. He was also associated with V-Mart Retail, as a whole time director. He started V-Bazaar Retail Pvt Ltd in May 2016.

Big-ticket purchases

Delhi-NCR, which includes Gurugram, has witnessed a number of high-end property deals and this purchase is the latest in the string.

In October 2023, a 11,000 sq ft apartment at The Camellias by DLF in Gurgaon's Golf Course Road was sold for more than Rs 100 crore in a resale.

In the same month, MakeMyTrip group CEO Rajesh Magow had purchased a 6,428 sq ft apartment in DLF Magnolias, also in Gurugram, for Rs 33 crore while in a separate deal, Genpact chief human resources officer Piyush Mehta bought a 6,462 sq ft flat in the same complex for Rs 32.60 crore.

In August 2023, comedian and actor Bhuvan Bam had bought a bungalow in Greater Kailash-III in South Delhi for Rs 11 crore.

Similarly, Vasudha Rohatgi, wife of former attorney general of India Mukul Rohatgi, had in February 2023 bought a 2,100 square yard or 18,900 sq ft bungalow in Delhi's tony Golf Links for Rs 160 crore.
