A man is in critical condition after a fight in the Newburg neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police. Just before 10:15 a.m., LMPD Sixth Division officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Shady Villa Drive, just west of Poplar Level Road, for reports of an assault in involving two men.When they got there, they said they found a man who was suffering from injuries that needed medical attention.Police said it is unknown if any weapons were involved during the fight at any point.The injured man was taken to UofL Hospital.Due to the severity of the injuries, LMPD's Homicide Unit is taking over the investigation.One person of interest has been detained, but an arrest has not been made at this time.Anyone with information regarding the altercation is asked to call the anonymous Crime Tip Hotline at 502-574-LMPD (5673) or use the online Crime Tip portal.
