The OnePlus 12R was fully certified by TUV SUD using UFS 3.1 memory.

OnePlus has announced that OnePlus 12R buyers who opted for the higher storage variant of the device can secure a full refund before March 16. The OnePlus 12R arrived along with the OnePlus 12 and has hit all the right notes with its spec sheet. It has lived up to its positioning as a genuine ‘flagship killer’ that delivers bang for your buck. The brand had erroneously stated that the 16GB/256GB version featured UFS 4.0 storage instead of UFS 3.1 that was the same as the base storage version (8GB/128GB).

OnePlus has responded swiftly with a clarification on the OnePlus community forum. OnePlus President and COO Kinder Liu stated that customers who have bought the 256GB storage version can get a full refund before March 16. He also confirmed that the company’s customer service teams have been fully briefed on the situation. His post adds that “the OnePlus 12R was fully certified by TUV SUD using UFS 3.1 memory, and, as a result, it is still certified to remain fluent for 48 months. Your OnePlus 12R will stay fast and smooth long into the future”

Samsung launched UGS 4.0 in 2022 and claimed that UFS 4.0 storage delivers double the speed of UFS 3.1 its predecessor, while keeping power consumption in check. UFS 3.1 delivers a read speed of 2100 MB/s which is plenty fast for most users.
