“Zorro” developmental workshop: 7:30 p.m. March 15-16, Stageworks Northwest Theatre, 1433 Commerce Ave., Longview. A chance to be an integral part of the creation of a new work. Actors will read from the script of Leslie Slape’s new comic melodrama that has all the classic elements: a dastardly villain, a heroine for him to endanger, and plenty of excuses to throw popcorn — but this time the hero is the masked swordsman Zorro. Afterward, audiences will have the opportunity to give feedback and ask questions. Admission by donation. Information: 360-636-4488.

“Dial M for Murder” auditions: 6 p.m. March 6, with callbacks March 7, at Stageworks Northwest Theatre, 1433 Commerce Ave., Longview. Lorraine Bouchard directs this updated version of the celebrated crime thriller, with roles for two women, three men. Performance dates will be April 26-May 12.
“Zorro” auditions: 1 p.m., March 9, at Stageworks Northwest Theatre, 1433 Commerce Ave., Longview. New comic melodrama written by Leslie Slape. Roles for six or seven men, eight or nine women, two or three children (some roles may be doubled, and some may be either male or female), plus a person to read stage directions. Some characters also sing. Minimal rehearsal, as this will be performed script-in-hand. The workshop will be held March 15-16. 360-431-5332.

Alcove Gallery at the Community Arts Workshop, Lower Columbia CAP: 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., weekdays, 1526 Commerce Ave., Longview. An exhibit honoring the seventh anniversary of the Community Arts Workshop as well as the seventh wedding anniversary of workshop director Lisa Clark and workshop volunteer Craig Clark runs through Feb. 28. Cowlitz County Historical Museum: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, 405 Allen St., Kelso. 360-577-3119, cowlitzcountyhistory.org. The museum, formed in 1949, collects, preserves and interprets information and artifacts that tell the story of Cowlitz County through a partnership between Cowlitz County and the Cowlitz County Historical Society. The exhibit “1923: The Year that Changed Cowlitz County,” highlights how the planned city of Longview shaped the area and runs through at least summer 2024. Free admittance, with donations accepted.

Rainier Oregon Historical Museum: The Rainier Oregon Historical Museum is closed until further notice. Rainier City Hall’s clerk’s office was moved to the museum floor while emergency repairs are underway on the clerk’s office, according to the museum. There is no timeline as to when the museum will open again on the third floor of City Hall.
