Samsung S7 FE in 2024: Input wanted on second screen performance

Is it fine buying this tablet this late into its life cycle? I'm aware that updates will stop quite soon.

I've been looking at getting a tablet for media consumption, but also needed a portable monitor, but didn't want to spend money on both. Noticed that S7 FE has a fairly large screen, and can be used as a second screen for PC.

Only considering the 4GB model, which I know is less, but I don't need this else. Aside from maybe occasionally sketching if the apps are any good.

If anyone owns this, can you comment on its second screen performance over USB? Is it seamless enough?
 
If your PC is a desktop, just get a actual second monitor and separate tablet.

Ah, I should've mentioned this. I work remote and travel a lot. So its for a laptop.

Edit: At home I have a 24inch and 27inch.
 
Just want to know how this tablet can be used as a second monitor for PC ? Are you in Samsung Ecosystem ?

Like the person above linked, you can use Second Screen thats already there in certain Samsung tabs, or you can use SuperDisplay, which has way better performance apparently. Its paid but worth it.
 
@agentmilo is the s7 fe on some offer? asking because i m also looking for a tab with stylus support.
isnt s9Fe available at similar cost

S7 FE is for 30k on Flipkart with 4g and WiFi.
S9 FE is similarly priced for WiFi only.

Processor wise 778g in S7 FE is on par (slightly better) than 1380 in S9 FE.
S7 FE has bigger display.
Finally, S7 FE has wired DEX support.

I am also on a similar boat. Confused between S8, S9 FE+ and iPad.

So, the one on sale has 750g since its the lte version,, worse perf than even 1380.
A14 is the last update for it.

Advantages for S7FE (31k)
1)full dex support and video output
2)big screen
3) LTE

Advantage for S9FE(30k)
1) a little bit better performance
2)upto A17
3)90 HZ screen
4)no sim support

Apparently, the LTE version has 750g which is inferior to 1380.
wifi version is 778g, but check before buying.
wifi version

available for 28.7k on amazon. wifi 4gb+64gb. This one should have the 778G.
there are many versions of S7 FE with different RAM, storage etc, which is even more confusing.
