Annamalai criticises TN Budget

The state BJP president, K. Annamalai, has issued scathing criticism against the Tamil Nadu government, accusing it of making empty promises in its budget for the fiscal year, echoing similar sentiments from the past three years. In a statement, Annamalai lamented the lack of concrete action from the government despite repeated announcements regarding river restoration and the purchase of new buses.
Highlighting the apparent lack of implementation of past announcements, Annamalai questioned the efficacy of the government’s approach, pointing out that mere renaming of centrally funded schemes does not equate to effective governance. He expressed skepticism over the DMK’s penchant for claiming credit for central government schemes without tangible progress on the ground.
Annamalai further criticized the DMK government for its failure to allocate funds for the implementation of promises outlined in its manifesto, accusing it of prioritizing the renaming of schemes after late DMK leader Karunanidhi over genuine public welfare initiatives. He condemned what he perceived as a wasteful expenditure of public funds for the sake of publicity, without introducing any new schemes that serve the interests of the people.
