Josh Brooks is back on board as Franklin's head football coach

Today, the Macon County Board of Education announced that Josh Brooks will return as the head football coach at Franklin High School.
Brooks resigned from the role in November after leading the program for 18 seasons. He has coached at Franklin for the past 23 seasons. Now, Brooks is officially back with the school as its head coach.
In Brooks' 18 seasons as Franklin's head coach, the Panthers have a combined overall record of 141-78. Franklin has made the N.C. High School Athletic Association state playoffs 15 times under Brooks. In 2014, Brooks led Franklin to the 2AA West regional final.
Franklin finished with a 2-8 overall record and missed the playoffs last fall.
Recently, the school system received a $62 million grant for the construction of a new Franklin High. The board hopes that Brooks' presence will help the school make the transition easier. Brooks' wife Bekah is the school's head volleyball coach.

The Macon County Board of Education is excited that Franklin High School has upcoming expansion opportunities that will benefit all students at Franklin High. We know in the coming years it is beneficial to have continuity of leadership to navigate the terrain that comes with growth.

Coach Brooks is a tremendous mentor and role model for our student athletes. With an impressive track record and extensive experience, Coach Brooks brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise back to the Franklin Panthers. He will continue to provide great leadership for our program as we move Franklin High School forward.
