Cyclist (40s) dies following road crash in Dublin

A cyclist has died after being seriously injured in a crash in Dublin early this morning.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal road collision involving a bicycle and a car that occurred shortly before 9.30am on Sunday, February 18, on the Malahide Road at Kinsealy in Dublin 17.

The cyclist, a man in his 40s, was rushed to Beaumont Hospital with serious injuries. He was later pronounced dead. No other serious injuries were reported.

Gardaí have been carrying out a forensic examination at the scene and the Malahide Road at Kinsealy is currently closed. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Malahide Road in the Kinsealy area between 9am and 9:30am are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
