Mac McClung successfully defended his dunk contest title Saturday night during NBA All-Star Weekend, and he did so wearing new Puma basketball sneakers.
For the 2024 AT&T Slam Dunk contest, which was part of the State Farm All-Star Saturday Night events that took place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, McClung — who also won the event in 2023 — had the Puma All-Pro Nitro Showtime sneakers laced up. The colorway, which was executed in yellow sizzle and purple glimmer hues, released via Puma.com on Saturday.
The court-ready shoe features NitroFoam, the brand’s advanced nitrogen-infused foam, which was added to offer both responsiveness and cushioning while remaining light in weight. The All-Pro Nitro Showtime also includes TPU Formstrips for added support, engineered mesh uppers and non-slip rubber outsoles.
The Puma All-Pro Nitro Showtime is available now via Puma.com and retails for $130.
During the the 2023 AT&T NBA Slam Dunk contest, it was announced that McClung — who currently plays for the Osceola Magic of the NBA G League — had signed a shoe deal with Puma. The news was reported by Nick DePaula of ESPN and Boardroom via Twitter and confirmed by McClung on Instagram in a post captioned “Excited to join the @puma family.”
Aside from McClung’s victory in the AT&T NBA Slam Dunk contest, other winners during the Saturday night events include Steph Curry in the first NBA-WNBA shootout over Sabrina Ionescu, Damian Lillard in the Starry 3-Point Contest and Team Pacers — featuring Tyrese Haliburton, Bennedict Mathurin and Myles Turner — in the Kia Skills Challenge.
