Woman found dead inside home, Prince George’s police say

A woman was killed Saturday in a home in Maryland’s Accokeek area, Prince George’s County police said.

Police said that at approximately 9:40 a.m., officers went to a home in the 800 block of St. James Court for a welfare check. Inside, they found a woman suffering from trauma. Police said the woman, whom they did not identify, was declared dead at the scene.

Police said they are investigating her death as a homicide.

Police said they don’t believe it was a random crime, adding that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
