- February 18, 2024 16:52India beats England by 434 runs
That was some capitulation by England, bundled out inside 40 overs. No. 10 batter Mark Wood, with 33 runs, was England’s top-scorer in the second innings, and that sums up the visitor’s outing with the bat. Jadeja picked up five wickets, to go with his brilliant century in the first innings. Kuldeep Yadav also chipped in with a couple of crucial breakthroughs.
Earlier in the day, the way Jaiswal and Sarfaraz toyed with the English attack during their 172-run partnership off 158 balls, one would have never expected that such a collapse would follow on the same pitch a few hours later.
India now leads the series 2-1, and heads to Ranchi for the next game, which begins from February. India may have registered its biggest Test win in terms of runs, may England is an opposition against which you can never let your guard down. However, returning to winning big at home, after a couple of relatively close games, will give India the confidence to seal the series in Ranchi.
That will be all from us for this game. Do join us for our coverage for the fourth Test. Until then, it is goodbye.

- February 18, 2024 13:28England needs 557 runs to win
So, yeah England needs a record 557 runs to win in just over four sessions. James Anderson had said they would have gone for the win even if they were chasing 600 in the last match. Well, they have almost exactly got that task at hand this time around. If anything can come close to achieving this, though, is Bazball. Or at least, that’s what most have come to believe.
Nevertheless, with England going for the kill, this will be a fun run-chase. Talking about fun, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan are coming off sensational session, where they clobbered the English attack without mercy. Anderson was taken for three consecutive sixes, while the inexperienced spinners were guilty of being too generous with their lengths.
We will be back with the chase shortly. Stay tuned!

- February 18, 2024 11:37Lunch, Day 4
It would take a mighty effort for England to get back into this game now. India’s lead has swelled to 440. Its batters continued on the same vein, with Kuldeep putting in a mighty impressive shift as the nightwatchman. The only blot in the session for India was the run out of Shubman Gill at 91. But a returning Jaiswal and Sarfaraz have kept the momentum going against a hapless English bowling attack. To make it an even better day for India, it was announced earlier that Ashwin has returned for the side, after having left Rajkot a day earlier due to a family emergency.
Ben Stokes and his men have an uphill battle on their hands to save this Test.
