Robbinsville wins 1A wrestling tournament title; Kage Williams named MOW

Robbinsville may not have made it to the dual-team championship bout this year, but the Black Knights could still claim one title.

Ending a run of four straight titles by Avery County, Robbinsville won the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1A team tournament title on Saturday at the Greensboro Coliseum.

Robbinsville claimed the title by 10 points over the Vikings.

The Most Oustanding Wrestler award is also making its way back to Graham County: four-time state champ Kage Williams, who won the 190-pound title, earned the award for the Black Knights.
