He was wearing number 13 on his back but it might as well have been 23 as David Clifford's buzzer beating score to snatch victory for Kerry was simply Jordanesque. With the seconds ticking down to the very last of three additional minutes the Bulls – sorry, Kerry – worked the ball through the lines and into Sean O’Shea’s hands. Seanie might be the team’s Scottie Pippen, but there was only one man for the clutch moment.
Clifford drifted out, received the ball, turned and shot. The crowd in the bleachers confirmed the rest. Guttural roar. White flag. Final whistle. Kerry by a point.
