The Thar 5-door will be offered with the same engine options as the 3-door version.

You may have seen several images of the Thar 5-door prototype by now. However, a new video shows the upcoming model parked alongside the 3-door version.

Although the 5-door version has a similar shape, it does have a distinct design, especially the front end. The Thar 5-door has a different grille, wider than the one on the 3-door version. It is also equipped with a set of LED headlamps. The shape of the front bumper though looks identical.

Moving to the rear, while the overall design is similar, the Thar 5-door is likely to get different tail lamp clusters. The chunky rear bumper will be carried over along with the tailgate-mounted spare wheel. The position of the high-mounted stop lamp has been changed though.

Inside, the Thar 5-door will offer a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster and a 3-spoke steering wheel. The images reveal features like an engine start/stop button, a sunroof, rear AC vents and a rear centre armrest. When it comes to occupant safety, the Thar 5-door is likely to get 6 airbags, rear disc brakes, front parking sensors and at least a rearview camera.

The Thar 5-door will be offered with the same engine options as the 3-door version. These include a 2.2-litre diesel producing 130 BHP and 300 Nm and a 2.0-litre petrol that makes 150 BHP and 300-320 Nm. Both engines are likely to be offered with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions, with either 2WD or 4WD.
