Manu Gandas wins eighth career title with last day 64 at Tata Steel PGTI
Manu Gandas’ fine six-under 64 in the final round enabled him to record a two-stroke win in the Rs 1 crore Tata Steel PGTI Players’ Championship at the Tollygunge Club golf course here on Friday.
Gandas, who was joint second after three rounds, totalled 20-under 260 to take his eighth career title.
Overnight leader Rahil Gangjee settled for the second spot after carding 68.

Nitin Kumar Sinha in doubles final
Nitin Kumar Sinha in partnership with Mitsuki Leong of Malaysia beat Orel Kimhi and Ofek Shimanov of Israel 2-6, 7-5, [10-4] in the doubles semifinals of the $25,000 ITF men’s tennis tournament in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, on Friday.

National under-12 championship
Third seed Sarena Gahlot bounced back from a slow start to beat top seed Srishti Kiran 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 in the girls semifinals of the Ramesh Desai memorial National under-12 tennis championship at the GA Ranade Compex on Friday.
In the final, Sarena will play her doubles partner Khushi Kadian. Srishtii and Padma won the doubles title, beating Sarena and Khushi in the final.
In the boys section, fourth seed Aarav Chhallani beat top seed Yuvaan Garg 6-1, 7-6(6). He will play M Puneet in the final.
Yuvaan and Puneet won the doubles title, beating Aarav and R Vijay Kumar 10-5 in the super tie-break of the final.

Shooting World Cup: Manu Bhaker wins the air pistol bronze
Manu Bhaker won the air pistol bronze and missed the chance for a better medal by 0.5 points in the shooting World Cup in Granada, Spain, on Friday.
While qualification topper Rhythm Sangwan (580) tumbled to the eighth spot, Manu stayed strong before being pipped by Andrea Miranda of Mexico.
Interestingly, Miranda tied with Klaudia Bres of Poland at 236.2 after 24 shots in the final, but the latter won the shoot-off 10.2 to 9.8 for the gold.
In men’s air pistol, Sarabjot Singh shot 581 and placed 10th, as he missed the final by two points.
India continued to stay on the top of the medals table comfortably with four gold, three silver and three bronze. Georgia was second with a gold, a silver and two bronze.

Gujarat Giants unveils jersey, kick starts preparation for WPL 2
Ahead of the second season the WPL, which tees off in Bengaluru, Gujarat Giants began its preparations, by unveiling its jersey for the tournament.
The Gujarat’s Head Coach Michael Klinger and Mentor Mithali Raj were present at the ceremony as they presented the new jersey to the squad ahead of their training in the evening.
The Giants, will be captained by Australian run-machine Beth Mooney, with Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana as the vice-captain.
In preparation for this season’s WPL, the team in orange kickstarted their training in the Garden City of Bengaluru, and are putting in the hard yards as they approach their first game. The Gujarat Giants will open its campaign at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru against Mumbai Indians on 25 February.
